Ahmedabad University (est. 2009 by the Ahmedabad Education Society) is a private, non-profit research university with a liberal, interdisciplinary ethos. It comprises the Amrut Mody School of Management, School of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering & Applied Science, and specialised centres such as Heritage Management and VentureStudio. Undergraduate options span BA/BCom/BS/BTech with flexible curricula and cross-registration. Admissions follow a holistic review with a personal statement and faculty interaction; the University holds NAAC "A" accreditation.

Eligibility

The General Eligibility requirement for admission to Bachelors' and Integrated Masters' Programmes is the Class 12 examination, or its equivalent.

Programme-Specific Guidelines

• Management & Commerce: Commerce or Management at the school level are not compulsory.
• Humanities & Social Science: The Arts stream at the school level is not compulsory.
• Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science is open to anyone who has completed Class 12 or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject.
• Eligibility for Life Science: Students with Biology, Physics, Chemistry subjects in the 12th standard.
• Eligibility for Physics: Physics and Mathematics in Class 12 are compulsory.

Note: Students without Mathematics as a subject in the 12th standard — candidates admitted to the university in another Major or Undeclared Major/Programme who do not have Mathematics at Class 12 will have to take prescribed courses at the university and achieve a satisfactory grade before they can apply for a change in Major to Computer Science.

Candidates admitted in another Major or Undeclared Major/Programme who do not have Biology/Physics/Chemistry at Class 12 will have to take prescribed courses and achieve a satisfactory grade before they can apply for a change in Major to Life Science.

Admission Process

Admission at Ahmedabad is designed to recognise individuality and to understand the unique context of every student who applies. Applications are reviewed holistically, considering academic scores and fit with the Ahmedabad University culture and way of life. Application includes SOP & LOR.

The University follows a holistic review — assessing academics, application materials, and fit. Shortlisted applicants are called for a Personal Interview.

Note for BTech (SEAS): In Gujarat, engineering admissions are conducted via GUJCET counselling timelines or JEE score.
